What is your reset activity?  When you get out of sorts, or you are lethargic, or stressed, or maybe trying to figure something out or let something go?  Maybe you had a failure or some other set-back.  What do you do to reset or reboot yourself.

There are a lot of not so productive behaviors people have in these situations.  In the movie, Animal House, they went on a road trip when their fraternity was put on ‘double secret probation’.  Some people will have a smoke, or a drink.

These may work in the short term but not the best long term solutions for your health and well-being.

Maybe a cup of coffee is more your cup of tea.  Maybe meditation, or exercise.  For me it is fresh air and sunshine.  I have to go outside and do something physical.  Just a half hour walk outside  does wonders for me.  I have more focus, more energy, more determination and motivation.

A walk in the neighborhood is ok, but being in a more natural setting – in nature is much better.

Many scientific studies have shown that spending time in nature can have many quantifiable health benefits, both mental and physical. See resources below.

Maybe you have a good activity or ritual that will ‘reset’ your mood when in a funk.  That is great!  Remember to use it.  Don’t struggle – reset.   If you don’t have a good ‘reset’, try nature.  You don’t need to hug a tree. (But it might help.) Being in nature is scientifically tested/shown to improve our health and well-being.  So go take a hike!
